Carolyn Apura, COTA

 

Carolyn S. Apura, COTA, CKTP, IMC is a seasoned therapist who sees patients from pediatrics to geriatrics. She has been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant since 2007 starting off her career in pediatrics. While working in outpatient and home health settings, she gained experience and training in The Basic Course on the DIR/Floortime Model, NDTA Beyond Weightbearing: Developing Hand Function in Children and Adolescents, First Strokes Handwriting and Sensory Integration. Her advanced skills are: Beckman Oral Motor Protocol Certified, Interactive Metronome Certified and is a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner. In 2013, she ventured off into the adult/geriatric population as she wanted to fulfill her dream to gain experience in treating all ages. She was a Director of Rehab for 13 years at a Skilled Nursing Facility gaining hands on experience in leadership where she developed skills in positioning, pain, contracture management, and Physical Agent Modalities such as Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound and Short wave Diathermy. 

In 2025 she decided to go back to her first love of pediatrics. She now has the best of both worlds happily serving the pediatric and adult populations. She is excited to share her knowledge and skills, using creative teaching methods to help her patients achieve and maintain their independence.

When she is not working, you will find her dedicating her time to a local non-profit animal rescue serving as President on the Board of Directors. She enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs. As a proud "boy mom" she enjoys football, wrestling, and exploring new restaurants.
